OUR MISSION

To motivate and encourage Host Employers to consider the recruitment and employment of apprentices and trainees in a safe working environment and to ensure they receive the highest quality training available throughout their term.
What WAGTS stands for:

The WAGTS is renowned for the hassle-free nature of the apprenticeship hire service it provides and the unparalleled flexibility this gives employers with workforce planning.

In partnership with the WAGTS, hundreds of Western Australian businesses, large and small, are drawing enormous satisfaction from helping strengthen the future of their industry while contributing to the skill development of young Western Australians.

In the 1980s, the number of apprenticeships across Australia was in decline, a product of mounting paperwork and responsibility being placed on employers.

The WAGTS was founded to overcome these problems.  It was first registered as a group training provider in 1990, with incorporation under the Industrial Training Act of 1975.

As a not-for-profit association, the WAGTS is governed by a voluntary board that is representative of the industries it serves.  In common with all group training organizations, WAGTS is subject to the normal laws controlling business operations.
